Jazz asked: Need detailed close up photos for watches, coins and jewelry and would like to hear what kind of point and shoot digital camera is really good for this. Thanks
Thank you all for your responses and input. Much appreciation! My research has taken me down to 4 cameras. As I have been using a canon Powershot A70 with reasonably good results,(but want better) and am just learning how to use the manual settings adjustments, I think I’ll stick with Canon. My choices:
A720 IS
new A590 IS
A650 IS
SX100 IS
Other??
What do you guys think? Especially that my priority again is detailed small product photography, but want it for great shots for everything else too. Remember I don’t have much knowledge of shutter and aperture settings, etc. Learning, I hope!
Thank you all in advance1

Kal D asked: Need advice on choosing from Tamron 18-200 and Sigma 18-200 or Tamron 28-200 and Sigma 28-200 digital lenses for my Canon SLR digital. Or is Canon 28-200 better? Use especially for wedding photography. Have a budget. Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks

a_eberhardt484 asked: I’m interested in buying a nice, easy to use camera. I’ve done a little research and the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi seems to be my best bet. I’m a beginner at photography,so I’m kind of confused on the proper lens to buy. I don’t really need a lens with like 50X zoom. Just looking for a standard beginners lens for a good price. Can anyone help?

Richard S asked: I want to get a good digital camera for general use such as weekends etc, but also with the option for me to experiment with manual controls so I can learn more about photography.
I have considered the Panasonic LX3, has anyone got any suggestions?

livingfree737 asked: I currently have a Nikon Coolpix 3200 camera which was given to me as a gift…The megapixels aren’t that great on this camera, and I am into photography and want to step it up a notch and get a better digital camera. I take a lot of indoor photos, and I have found that with the camera I have now, I can’t take good pictures inside. They come out pretty pixelated and I usually get only 2 good shots out of every 5 or 6. And forget trying to take pictures at a concert… they never turn out. Does anyone know of any really good digital camera that works well indoors? I am interested in maybe getting one with an interchangable lens. Price really isnt that much of an option, something around $400 – $800 may be good for me right now.. but I’m open to any option.

Are there any features i should look for in a camera as a beginner in photography…or should I just go with what I know about regular digital cameras and just pick one?

Chicken1 asked: I have a Nikon D40 digital camera and bought a wide angle lens. I don’t know a lot about photography, I had to use this kind of camera for a job. My photos are supposed to be set for the widest angle for the lens (24mm). Is there a way to set this up using my camera menu? Help! Thanks.
